1 large can plum tomatoes
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon garlic (crushed)
1 cup onion (diced)
2 tablespoons oregano
2 tablespoons basil
Heat olive oil in a dutch oven or large saucepan.
Add garlic and diced onions. When translucent, add can of tomatoes.
Use a wooden spoon to break up the tomatoes.
Season with spices.
Cook for 45 minutes, stirring frequently.
Serve over pasta.
This is a quick light sauce that will serve atleast four. If you want a thicker sauce, add one can of tomato paste and cook for atleast one hour 30 minutes, stirring frequently.
